Rugabub play mats are designed for everyday family life and easy cleaning, making them ideal for babies, toddlers and busy households.

Our luxury foam padded Rugabub play mats are crafted from premium foam and designed to provide years of safe, comfortable play for your family. Following these care instructions will help keep your play mat looking beautiful for longer.

Allow Your Play Mat to Settle

• After unboxing, your play mat may need a little time to relax and settle into its natural shape.
• Unroll the mat as soon as you receive it
• Lay it flat on a smooth surface
• If needed, roll the mat in the opposite direction, strap it, and leave it in the box for a few nights to help it flatten faster

Your play mat includes two Velcro straps for easy storage and transport. We recommend keeping these handy.

Cleaning Your Play Mat

Rugabub play mats are designed to be quick and easy to clean.

• Wipe with a soft cloth using mild soapy water
• Use a gentle, non-acidic detergent if needed
• Allow the mat to dry before flipping or using again
• Always place the play mat on a dry surface.

Cleaning Products to Avoid

To protect the outer coating, please avoid using:

• Harsh detergents
• Essential oils (including eucalyptus or citrus oils)
• Alcohol-based cleaners
• Bleach
• Abrasive cleaners such as Jif or Gumption
• Steam cleaners or vacuum cleaners

Wet wipes may also contain ingredients that damage the coating (even if they are 99% water).

Handling Spills

All spills, including food, milk, vomit, urine or other liquids, should be cleaned immediately, as some substances may cause staining or fading over time.

Play mats should not be hosed down or submerged in water.

Protecting Your Play Mat

To keep your mat in excellent condition:

• Use on smooth indoor surfaces
• Avoid walking on the play mat with shoes
• Avoid sharp objects that may puncture or graze the surface (this can be sharp plastic toys too)
• Do not place heavy furniture or objects on the play mat
• Keep pens, paints, crayons and markers away from the mat
• Avoid heat sources such as heaters, fireplaces or hot liquids

Outdoor Use

Rugabub play mats are primarily designed for indoor use.
They may be used outdoors for short periods if placed in a shaded area on a smooth surface.

Pets

We love furry friends, but pets may cause damage with claws or teeth, so please supervise play mats around animals.

Natural Variations

Rugabub play mats are made without toxic plasticisers or chemical stabilisers.
During the heat-sealing process, slight colour variation around the edges may occur, this is a natural feature of the material and manufacturing process, not a fault.

Safety Reminder

Please allow the play mat to flatten completely before use to avoid trip hazards, and always ensure the mat is dry after cleaning to prevent slipping.

Warranty

Warranty does not apply to damage caused by improper use or failure to follow the care instructions.

Rugabub play mats were created to help parents discover safe, durable and beautifully designed eco-conscious play mats for everyday family life.

To support our commitment to quality, Rugabub play mats are backed by a 6-month warranty from the date of purchase.

This warranty covers the repair or replacement of a play mat with a genuine manufacturing or material defect, provided the issue is not caused by normal wear and tear, incorrect use, staining, or failure to follow our care instructions.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not apply to:

• Normal wear and tear
• Improper use or misuse of the play mat
• Damage caused by failing to follow our Play Mat Care Guide
• Stains, punctures, tears or damage caused by sharp objects
• Damage caused by harsh cleaning products or environmental exposure

Natural Characteristics of the Materials

Rugabub play mats are made using premium eco-conscious TPU materials. Because we avoid harsh chemical stabilisers commonly used in other foam products, some natural characteristics may occur over time.

These include:

• Slight yellow or beige tinting around the edges due to the heat-sealing process
• Minor colour variations due to the manual printing process
• A subtle faded or distressed appearance designed to replicate the look of vintage-style rugs
• Minor colour changes over time as part of the natural ageing of cleaner materials

These characteristics are normal and not considered defects.

Sustainability Note

As part of our commitment to creating safer products for families and the environment, Rugabub play mats are made using eco-friendly and biodegradable materials. Because we prioritise cleaner materials, small aesthetic changes may occur over time and should be considered a natural part of the product.
