before you begin.
Your Rugabub and Rugaroo products are made with care, quality materials, and a genuine consideration for both your family and the environment. Here is everything you need to know before your first use.
Setting up your Rugabub play mat.
Your play mat is made from premium quality memory foam and arrives rolled and strapped. Before your little one takes their first tumble on it, follow these simple steps.
Remove and safely dispose of all packaging materials before allowing your child near the mat. Keep plastic bags, straps, and any wrapping well away from little ones.
Unroll your mat as soon as it arrives. The longer it stays rolled, the longer the memory foam takes to return to its flat form. Lay it out on a smooth, flat surface and allow it to settle.
If the mat is holding its rolled shape, roll it in the opposite direction, re-strap, and leave for a night or two. This encourages the foam to relax back to its designed flat form faster.
Your mat comes with 2 velcro straps. Do not throw them away. They are incredibly convenient for rolling, moving, storing, and transporting your mat.
Give your mat a quick wipe with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent before first use. Allow to dry completely before placing on the floor.
Trip hazard reminder: Please allow the mat to flatten fully before use. An unflattened or partially rolled mat can be a trip hazard. Follow step 3 above if needed.
Your Rugaroo is ready to go.
Rugaroo dolls arrive with minimal packaging by design. No unnecessary plastic, no excess waste, just your doll, its label, and its pouch bag ready for its first adventure.
Remove the label from your Rugaroo before handing it to your child. Keep it somewhere safe if you would like to retain the care and safety information for future reference.
If your Rugaroo comes with metal accessories, these are packaged for protection during transit. Remove all packaging carefully before first use and supervise children aged under 3 during play.
Age guidance: Small metal accessories are intended for children aged 3 and above. Always supervise younger children during play.

We made a deliberate choice to minimise packaging across the Rugaroo range. Not because it is trendy, but because it is the right thing to do. Here is exactly what that looks like in practice.
Dolls arrive with a label only. No unnecessary plastic wrapping, no excess packaging. Just your doll, ready to be loved.
We do not use plastic packaging unless you specifically request it, or it is required to protect delicate items like metal accessories during transit.
For wholesale orders, we reuse plastic for protection and insurance purposes. Reusing is always better than buying new.
