Characters play together. Stories get richer and scenes get bigger when there is more than one character in the world.

Meet Reed, the Wetlands Ranger. The calm and watchful guardian of the waterways.
His name is not just fitting. Reed is named after the whispering reeds that line Australia's most beautiful wetlands. So from the very first moment he is held, he carries the quiet spirit of the Australian bush with him. And here is something worth knowing: the black swan is native to Australia. Eighty percent of Australians did not know that. Now they do.
Standing approximately 15cm tall and crafted in our signature Rugaroo plush style, Reed wears khaki pants, a cream shirt and a ranger hat pulled just right. He is designed for small-world storytelling, dollhouse-compatible play and the kind of imaginative adventures that stay with a child for years.
Whether he is guiding his Rugaroo friends along imaginary riverbanks, watching over a tiny wetlands scene on the Ocean Road Play Mat, or setting off on a new bush adventure, Reed brings calm curiosity and deep connection to the natural world into every playroom.
He is the mate who reminds little explorers to slow down, look closely and care for the world around them.

The story behind this one
You choose Reed for the child who notices everything. The ripple on the water. The bird on the branch. The world most people walk straight past.
He is for the quiet explorer. The nature kid. The child who crouches by the creek, watching a water bug for twenty minutes, and comes home knowing something the rest of us missed.
Reed has been chosen by families who feel connected to Australia's waterways, for children who dream of becoming rangers and conservationists, and for those wanting something that gently celebrates the beauty of slowing down.
Named after the whispering reeds of Australia's wetlands, he is a black swan; a native Australian bird that still surprises many.
"80% of Australians didn't know black swans are native to Australia. Now they do."
The Rugaroo Black Swan Series is our most refined collection. Four characters. Four stories. Small pieces of Australian identity, thoughtfully crafted into heirloom dolls made to be kept, loved and passed on.
Reed is also a meaningful Australian gift for visiting friends and family. Not something that gets tucked away; but something that travels home, carrying a story of Australia with it.
Inspired by the quiet beauty of Australia's wetlands and one of its most iconic native birds, he is a reminder to slow down, look closely and care for the world around us.
FOR THE DOLLHOUSE AND SMALL-WORLD PLAY COMMUNITY
Australia's most unexpected native animal, reimagined as a meaningful Australian gift.
The black swan is native to Australia, a bird so rare and surprising that it reshaped how the world thinks about possibility. And yet it is a story few people ever get to hold in their hands. Until now.
The Rugaroo Black Swan Series is our most refined collection. Four characters, each grounded in Australian identity, carefully crafted into heirloom miniature dolls made for small world play, dollhouse storytelling and imaginative play that lasts. Pieces made to be kept, gifted and passed on.
For visiting friends and family, for collectors, or for the child growing up with a love for home, this is a gift that feels truly Australian. Thoughtful, lasting and full of story.
