At Rugabub, we’ve always believed that the most meaningful things we give our children aren’t just toys or books, they’re stories. Our beloved Rugaroo dolls, those soft, soulful characters your children have cuddled, carried, and whispered secrets to, are stepping onto the page. The Tales from the Rugaroo Wilds picture book series is on its way.
These gentle, emotion-led stories bring the characters to life in new ways. You’ll see Shaz the Sunbaking Kangaroo, Dazza the Tradie, Bindi the Dreamer Koala, Sandy the Surf Rescue Kangaroo, and more - all navigating friendship, big feelings, healing, and hope... the very same themes they were designed to embody through play.
For a child, seeing their favourite doll in a story isn’t just exciting, it’s powerful. It makes their world feel seen. It gives language to emotions they haven’t yet found words for. It lets them step into a narrative where they already belong.

Here in Australia, storytelling runs deep. For First Nations peoples, it’s how culture, kinship, and care have been passed down for tens of thousands of years, through spoken word, songlines, and sacred symbols. It’s how we help our little ones understand the world, feel held, and know they’re not alone.
