Rugabub Play Mats Road Tracks are minimal for a reason

Rugabub’s Minimal Road Maps

We received a lovely email from a great customer not too long ago asking why the Little Trooper Road Map side is so minimal (thank you, Zarah)!

We always love receiving feedback and after explaining the whole reason behind the minimal design of our road maps, we couldn’t have been happier to see our customer’s reaction to it all – so we decided to tell you too all about it…

When we say “safe play without compromise” we mean it! Compromising goes both ways. So, we have crafted a stylish side that respects parents, and when you flip the play (!!) mat over, you will treasure a fun, minimal and playful map for the whole family to enjoy, where your imagination and creativity can really come out. It is not only about the cars and trains…

We left this side as minimal as possible so that you can use your imagination and build cities, meadows with animals, fairy gardens, construction sites (can you see the dead-end signs?) magical snow mountains, bridges, lakes etc. etc.

Here are some of out favourite small businesses where you can purchase some of these awesome wooden toys from.

Play Seekers is one of our favourite stores for Small World Play. They are huge advocates for learning through play and are on a mission to inspire authentic play for all kids big and small!

U.Me Play U•Me Play is much more than a wooden toy store. It represents that all learning that happens in the early years of childhood occurs both within the context of a loving relationship and a whole lot of play!

Ostheimer are German toymakers and they have brought an adorable and lovely image of the world into countless children’s rooms. While our children engage in free imaginative playing they are able to take important steps in their development, they experience the beauty of childhood and gain talents that will strengthen them.

@avdar.toys handmade and family run business!

So, are you obsessed as we are?

To be honest, we were wondering too why this side is so minimal, and now we thgink it is absolute genius. Love the dead ends too instead of a continuous road. Well done Rugabub 👏

This is so clever and we love it. Makes playing with tracks that much more imaginative and the girls love it too. Well done!
